September 2017
This project took the form of informal after school sessions for young people during the week leading up to the Ngukurr Festival. Working together with Ben Wallace, we approached a number of sites within the community, including a large wall of the local Rec Centre and an amenities building located on the local footy oval. Through discussion with a range of locals, it was decided that the dominant components within the final imagery would become the significant animal totems of the region. We also included a version of a troopy that was created by local artist, Karen Rogers, for the Ngukurr Festival as well as something for the local footy team, the Bulldogs.
