Mannum Sport & Recreation Centre, July 2013
This project was initiated by the Mid Murray Council and involved a handful of High School students from Mannum High and Cambrai Community College. Over a week we worked together to transform their otherwise bland cream brick monolith into a much more lively presence. The students learned basic brainstorming and planning processes, choosing to focus particularly on the pattern making potential of stencilled aerosol. The pictured building houses a basketball court, gym, squash court and senior citizens hall and is a hive of community activity. The team had to work hard in the short time available to complete the mural as it currently stands.
