Solomontown Primary School Mural, November 2012
In November of 2012 I was invited to join Carclew’s Cargo tour to Port Pirie and facilitate a mural project at Solomontown Primary School. Over 4 days we worked together with 3 different Primary School classes to transform an otherwise bland corrugated wall into an energetic underwater scene. The students learned basic aerosol and stencil skills, using them to create ocean characters and elements that inhabit their mural. The wall is adjacent to the school’s canteen and the mural has invigorated this central schoolyard space.
